Woke Alamo? Real Texans Say NO; Dan Patrick Steps Up

The True History of Armed Resistance and Liberty at the Battle of the Alamo Saved by Exit of Woke CEO

A woke CEO and President of Alamo Trust Inc., the nonprofit that manages the story of the Battle of the Alamo, has resigned from her position, shortly after her 2023 doctoral dissertation from the University of Southern California’s Global EdD program became public last week. Kate Rogers argued in the paper that the history of the Battle of the Alamo — Texas’ fight for independence from Mexico in 1836 — presented to the public should deemphasize the role of the valiant men who lost their lives in that gun battle, and instead include a focus on “indigenous people and their communities.”

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who presides over the Texas Senate, sent a letter to the Alamo Trust’s Board of Directors demanding her removal, which prompted her resignation.

Patrick said in his letter, “I believe her judgment is now placed in serious question. She has a totally different view of how the history of the Alamo should be told.”
