First of all let let me get this out of the way. This has nothing to do with Donald Trump par-say but rather the whole Republican Party. President Trump became a reality because of the hierarchy of the GOP that speaks about Conservatism but once they get into office they vote soft left and they also vote to grow government...more often than not at our expense.
The truth of the matter is that their is no conservative party in the majors. Only two progressive parties. The soft left/liberal Republican Party who constantly lies to its constituents that they are not such (but we are expected to vote for them like good little conservatives) and a more honest hard left/Marxist progressive Democratic Party whos existence was built upon obtaining and keeping and getting more power. Back in the day the Democrats were about promoting and maintain the slave trade not only because it made money but owning and exploiting slaves was like a drug to the Democrats...it simply FELT GOOD to hurt the black person. No different than using profane language.
Perhaps the most honest never Trumpers who are also rib-rock conservatives like Shannon Joy and David Leach are just upset perhaps that Donald Trump stole their thunder and hopes of collapsing the Republican party. The problem that the likes of Joy and Leach have is they still dont have a organized coalition formed to actually move the ball down to their goal line. They also have not been able to for whatever reason (avoid the cult of personality not thinking ahead or whatever) tell us who their dream and/or perfect candidates for elected office would be. You still need candidates to run for and win elected office and yes; you need to hold those holding to elected office accountable for their actions.
The Conservative movement has proven in the off year elections in Colorado Mississippi and yes even Kentucky is anything but dead. However it does need to part ways with the deadwood. They could not part with it in Virginia and now you have suburbanites that go into Washington DC everyday to work for the deep state" everyday and they will vote for whomever gives them more bread and butter...in their case that would be the Democratic Party. Couple that with some gerrymandering of the district lines.
However in Colorado their was attempt by progressive donors and elites to repeal the concept called the Taxpayers Bill of Rights or TABOR in which any proposed tax increase by the State of Colorado must be approved by a majority vote of the people. For a state that has turned Blue" in recent years the voters hands down said; no way Jose you are not giving up our rights and you still need OUR permission to raise taxes as you see fit nor are we giving you permission to plunder and exploit us as you grow government and acquire more power.
Only one election in Kentucky fell to the Democrats. That being the Governors seat. The biggest mistake Matt Bevin made was going after the pension of the teachers unions rather than trying to bust the unions before you have to pay more teachers in the future. Otherwise the Republicans won all the other statewide elections including state Attorney General elect Daniel Cameron who helped the GOP take back the Kentucky AG seat since World War II. Cameron is also the second African-American to hold statewide office in Kentucky and the first African American Attorney General of Kentucky. This is a big feather in the GOPs cap.
Still the Conservative movement needs to have a new voice and they must have an honest voice and one that is not tainted by cronie capitalist soft left liberals that dominate the Republican leadership; not just at the national level but at the statewide levels. It is those very leaders at the state level that handed the Democrats victories and near monopoly power in California and Colorado. The Conservatives must take a leap of faith and tell the Republican Party that we dont need them but rather they need us and they have used us for too long. We must not let them intimidate us any longer. We must do to the Republican Party that it was doing to the WHIG Party ages ago. That way we can sell the message of Conservatism to the people who actually believe it but feel that the GOP is either pathetic or downright evil or whatever.
On top of that we must clean up our own homes front and backyards and ourselves and above all get straight with God himself. It was through God and his law that America was allowed to exist. It was also that fear of God that convicted people to stand up and make the needed changes in America when the times for them came. We can do this but we have to be honest be real and love our neighbor or otherwise the siren song of socialism will bowl us all over and put America into the great judgement of a Living God and that might not end well for many.
Above all remember the simple instruction as stated in Exodus 18:21. Choose those who fear God and cant be bribed and dont compromise on the things that matter...especially Life Liberty Private Property Rights and the Pursuit of Happiness. Failure to do any of these things and say hello to a thousand years of darkness...complements of the power hungry Democrat Party and maybe God himself.
