Every year right before Christmas, the youth outreach organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA) holds its AmericaFest (AmFest) in downtown Phoenix. Due to the political assassination of its CEO and co-founder Charlie Kirk in September, this year’s event, titled “A Tribute to Charlie Kirk,” is expected to be its largest ever since the conference launched five years ago.
Opponents are planning an opposing event across the street from Amfest. An organizer posted on X that they were “crashing” AmFest.
TPUSA is widely credited for turning Gen Z more conservative due to its clubs and events on college and high school campuses. Last year, its political advocacy arm Turning Point Action (TP Action) focused heavily on getting out the vote in battleground states, in an effort to make the election “too big to rig,” meaning overcoming any illegal election activity.
