Trump Appointee Jeffrey Clark Files List of 112 Alleged Errors in ‘Unconstitutional’ Proceedings to Disbar Him over 2020 Election Legal Work

Attorney Jeffrey Clark is continuing to battle an effort by the D.C. Bar to strip him of his law license.

Clark filed an “Exceptions to Report of Board of Professional Responsibility” on Wednesday, disputing findings that claimed he engaged in unethical behavior by drafting a proposed letter to Georgia officials on Trump’s behalf that was never sent, advising them of options that could be taken to deal with election wrongdoing in 2020.

Clark, who served in the Department of Justice (DOJ) during President Donald Trump’s first term, was charged by the bar with engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation, and engaging in conduct that seriously interferes with the administration of justice, Rules 8.4(c) and (d) of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

These vague, broad rules are often used to target conservative attorneys. The Ad Hoc Hearing Committee for the D.C. Board on Professional Responsibility (BPR) recommended to the full board that his law license be suspended for two years, and the bar’s attorney Hamilton Fox is pursuing full disbarment.
