The Laws of Creativity

width=300 We have always heard the idea of rules for creativity. They are all based on what some writers have to live by personally themselves. The outlook of it is rather based on an individuals lessons gained in creativity and not by what most authors have to give out to the masses. In the real world creativity thinks it can be prescribed to people to follow a way to success. If an author is trying to sell you a successful" way to write it must be taken with the pounds of salt they want to sell you with no water to drink. Its an idea that if you are selling something to a writer with no real idea on how to write this is way you should take it. Im important and so my methods are important than yours because little man you are not going to make it. You should just quit if you dont work by my rules. The idea that you have to follow anyones rules in the first place are just ludicrous. It would suffice to say that the writer who wants to sell you his way of writing is only just following orders from the editor he learned it from. Stephen King always admits that his writing is always graded worse than his French papers in college" and while this is fun to think about its always the editor a writer has to thank. While I would probably not thank any of my editors because what they see in my words as insufficient but really it matters when the ways of editors dont work for the most part. The dumbed down" way that most editors work. They are trained to think in one specific way. The laws of creativity is that the author is right. Until the editor thinks they can rewrite it to match some Politically Correct standard and no matter the notion of what they seem to obliterate in the way of the lost connection there is a single deception the editors think they can give onto the writer. Eccentricity in writing has no place in the editors purview. Its the only reason why most of the writers that make it often have to thank their editors but its not like the editors are the only ones to thank. Its the possibility of writing that makes all editors feel they can work within a world and make it better. Yes I know that all editors arent the devil incarnate but they do think they own the world they shape. Without the author the editor wouldnt exist. The Law of Creativity is that the author even when he is deluding himself to think that the editor might be helping" him they certainly are trying to make sure that people can read it. They dont care about eccentricity. They just want to make a product." I think that the more someone looks at something as a product" you are wishing it to die. You are not only changing what makes others seem as close enough to reading a masterpiece but the editor must believe it is a masterpiece in order to use his powers effectively. If the author and the editor arent on the same page the novel or piece of art will turn into a half way dependent botchling (from the Witcher) that is neither dead nor alive. The problem is that there are no Laws to define what the world has to say in order for someone to like a book. Certainly books are not subject to any laws themselves. Its the words that shape a destiny of a book not the editor. The words are what makes the book come alive. What you have instead of a product is a work of art. If people only believed they saw works of art they wouldnt complain so much about what people create. Youtubers are known to receive more criticism and take it seriously than most authors do. If someone doesnt like your work they will be vocal about it. Yes George Lucas states that you should treat the consumer like your friend" and thats a good thing. These arent things that most people have to follow. Laws or Commandments are a biblical thing for most people. Laws is just an example of what most creative people live by and no matter what the author thinks they must follow it or change the rules as they go. Creativity doesnt have defined rules and no matter what I say authors or content creators as they are called today often never follow one sets of rules at all. Its the tools that most authors or creators use to make their creations come alive. The law of creators is never one to follow the same way. Most creators never come as they are specifically made. When approached they often have no advice for people on how to write. As Stephen King says Creative writing cannot be taught." Even though I have better optics than to take Stephen King seriously I know the world that most authors live are not the same as most people live. The law for most normal people: go to work have a family dont think about having dreams. As David Trend said in Anxious Creativity of Galton Creativity can run in families" which doesnt mean that some people are naturally creative but they must work hard at it. My own grandfather created plans that he wanted patented but couldnt buy the patent for it. Art doesnt live in the double standards of what most others tend to think would make someone instinctively creative. The reasons why we are creative are often more complex. Its an escape from the life of normal simplicity that makes us wonder if creative people merely are just natural hiders. The problem of knowing that most others tend to think are just what they know in the way others tend to think are just naturally creative. Most creative people never like to share what they have with people. I never proscribed to this way of creativity but some people are okay with others critiquing their work. Its a world outside our own. The problem of knowing that what makes others creative is when the world is not what they see in their own mind. Most people who are creative are never the same as they are. Consequently the same wisdom that someone gives me really doesnt match the same problems we have together. The idea that a constant error might annoy one doesnt really annoy some writers. Eccentricity is a part of what makes authors unique. If there uniqueness lives inside the quotas they are assuredly more fine-tuned to admit that what they have to offer is not the same as those who have seen it through the eyes of a publisher. I write in a unique eccentric way and no matter what my therapist tells me things need to adapt to what they are today" the rigid way of thinking like this is the reason why most creative people independently publish. The notion that we are still resorting to asking people for their advice or Laws on what makes a work unique is the reason why we dont need a think tank. If someone is naturally creative they dont need other people to tell them what mistakes they have made. A creative person would see it anyway. The more a person writes they understand what they write. No Law can hold one persons success in the same way others have to feel success. The perception of what creativity means is not the right or the wrong way of doing things. If people write differently they must be judged on their uniqueness and not their incorrections. If you are merely judging someone on what is incorrect you will never find the unique quality they have to offer. Too much have writers heard thats just bad writing" and no matter what they say its the judgement of one person that holds no sway over each persons law of creativity. The idea that no longer Laws are what makes the idea of judgment" one to take seriously. If you think something is wrong you will always see whats wrong with people and never see the good qualities they have to offer. The problem of knowing that what you have is the same reasons you have to write might change but those changes must come from within. Its a power that no longer admits the weapon is truthful or not but the idea that criticism" is bad is not correct. Criticism can mean advice on where to take the work not a Law. Its the inspiration of knowing that someone wants you to succeed can help but its all in the eye of the beholder. Creativity is the weapon that holds our imagination hostage and can give us an escape where most have often come as a surprise to most others. The idea that there is only one way to write is not like those who would give you medicine to cure some illness. Writing is about the imperfections in what we see in the writing but what most others tend to see is the mere existence of the page meaning something more when it is incorrect. The problem of having to completely do something correctly is the answer to hemlock than it is a release of endorphins. Doing something correctly feels more instinctively stupid than it does freeing. Creative Writing is not allowing yourself to see with both eyes open. Its taking the wheel of a car and closing your eyes and steering with no sight. Philip Pullman in the book Daemon Voices states in Magic Carpet that we have to pay attention to what our imagination feels comfortable doing" (Pullman Phillip. Daemon Voices. Vintage. 2019. P. 14) and states that reality must be apart of the writing craft. While fantasy must seem fantastic but realism is also apart of the Laws of Creativity. But again dont think of God dictating the ten commandments to Moses because that would be too much. No matter what creative mode you take you must be open to the realism your fantasy presents. Creativity must have a realism when someone is reading it. Creativity is more than just words. Its how your fianc says I do when you propose to her. Its the unconditional love that someone feels when you hold each other at night. The realism one feels when they put a blanket over their body to hide themselves against the bitter cold. Its a set of goals that you must know that will happen when one action happens and another must follow. Action and Reaction. I implore you not to just make a popcorn thriller but if you do please have higher standards but even then there are no such thing as always that can make the world a better place for writing. But there is no rule or law but again one can have standards. The idea even then that one must have standards or genius must run in the family or someone must be born into a life of artistry is poppycock. What you have is the idea that someone else wants to give you laws to follow. Laws again should be left for religion not for creativity. Creativity is a weapon that we all have to carry in order to keep our minds alive. We have to make sure that Laws are just another reason why we have to create and fulfill our own legends that we want to create. In the artists eye all must see the course of their journey and no matter what happens the art must stand as the resolution to each persons craft and vision. Vision is also another important key factor to creativity as well. Vision is the idea that you can write more stories or span the arc for a series that you can create for people. But thats if you really take it all seriously. Creativity is a knife you should only carry if you are willing to live the life of an artists. This is a knife that you must quench with your imagination. Its all that you must carry. But this is not Law. Its an obsession. Creativity is an obsession and just as dangerous as your dads gun. Its a wild possession that you can turn on yourself and not die. But the possibility of creating Art is why that Laws are just another standard that most artists do not follow. The actions of what artists want is not the same but you must take the world you are living in with a sense of deception. You can be the assassin or the knight. Creativity takes many forms and you can be whatever you want. No Law can hold you back in your creativity. No Rules. No Laws. Just Creativity.
