MARGINALIZATION OF THE REST OF US OUTSIDE OF CAPITAL HILL NEW YORK CITY & THE LEFT COAST OF CALIFORNIA
Folks our subject matter today is the increasing communication gap between todays liberal/left political elite (and media) and the rest of us residing in what these condescending elitists contemptuously refer to as flyover country" (the vast urban & rural wasteland" that such sophisticates fly over to reach another urban mecca of sophistication usually Los Angeles (home of the most privileged self-satisfied elitist snobs of all Hollywood celebrities).
So lets begin to unfold todays narrative":
Certainly if you need confirmation regarding the gaping disconnect between ordinary Americans and their supposedly more enlightened betters in the liberal media and the Democratic Party then check out the sad facts underlying the prisoner swap with the Taliban for deserter Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
The U.S. community-organizer-in-chief Barack Obama released Americas only prisoner of war -- in Afghanistan -- in a trade for five senior Taliban commanders in U.S. custody as part of a brief public-relations ceremony featuring two fervid Islamist fans the parents of Sgt. Bergdahl.
In this case were referring to Robert Bergdahl and his ever preening wife (the Nancy Pelosi of swapped prisoners parents).
The president too was beaming & smiling as if he was expecting Americans to take to the streets and dance with joy at this obvious boneheaded decision.
But instead even Democrats immediately began to question the wisdom of swapping
five Taliban murderous ringmasters in exchange for
one AOL American solider (later confirmed as a deserter & likely traitor).
Moreover saner heads prevailed -- even at the liberal Washington Post" (the Obama administrations official Pravda-like print cheerleader) perplexed by this strangely unequal prisoner exchange.
For example a number of justified questions were asked of this inept White House foreign-policy miscue:
Did the swap make U.S. soldiers & civilians more likely to be taken hostage with Americas Islamist enemies knowing how weak the White House was on such demands?
How could the administration guarantee that the five Taliban commanders wouldnt return to the battlefield (which some ultimately did)?
And finally did the U.S. try all other options to free Bergdahl before caving in to these outrageous demands?
Of course Obama administration apologists including the President himself immediately took to the air waves to defend the indefensible -- this miscalculated prisoner swap.
For example on the first stop of a three-nation trip to Europe (in Poland) Obama foolishly intoned that the United States has a pretty sacred rule.... We dont leave our men or women in uniform behind on the field of battle"
Of course to quote one civilian critic that day: Too bad that sacred rule wasnt in effect when President Obama decided against mounting any kind of rescue operation for our men in Benghazi!"
Regardless as part of this presidential European triumph tour Barack Obama couldnt resist in indulging in classic White House overkill dismissing as
IRRELEVANT concerns about how Bergdahl had disappeared.
And thats despite the fact that an initial Army investigation -- ended
FOUR years earlier concluded that Sgt. Bergdahl had walked away from his units base near the Pakistani border without authorization (ie had deserted) on June 30 2009.
Whatever those circumstances may turn out to be we still get an American soldier back if hes held in captivity -- period full stop Barack Obama insisted -- just like he promised Americans that under Obamacare they could keep their doctors & existing insurance coverage period full stop.
But the White House gang that cant shoot straight (or keep their big mouths shut) werent finished yet.
John Heinz Kerry Americas secretary of state quickly dismissed as a lot of
BALONEY" recent threats by some Taliban prisoners that they will return to the battlefield and kill Americans (though ironically once John Kerry spots a media microphone hes a big
HAM himself).
Kerry insisted that the movements of the five former leaders of the Taliban who were released to Qatar would be closely monitored by the government of Quatar (having failed to read the
small print that noted that the prisoners were free to move about Quatar as they pleased -- ultimately camping out at the capital-citys only
FOUR-STAR hotel).
And what a surprise! Also according to this iron-clad" agreement these murderous villains were free to return to Afghanistan and resume the battle against American troops
AFTER only
ONE YEAR.
Which finally brings us to
Susan Rice the presidents national security adviser the feckless administration spokesperson who previously claimed that the attack on the Benghazi embassy was started by an inflammatory Egyptian video a bold-faced lie.
In fact who can forget the mendacious moment when this Sunday-morning talk-show star simultaneously appeared on almost every news show that eventful morning to
spin" the latest administration
Benghazi talking points" (
LIES)?
BACK TO THE FUTURE
But back to the present-day bungled prisoner swap:
Speaking on ABCs Sunday news show This Week" after the much-criticized Bergdahl prisoner swap -- Ms. Rice insisted that Sgt. Bergdahl
served the United States with honor and distinction."
Huh!?!
Bergdahls fellow platoon mates (two of them his best friends) had already appeared on The Kelly File" (the popular Fox News show) and
UNANIMOUSLY agreed that Bergdahl had deserted his post.
As Charles Krauthammer dryly opined at that time:
EVERY Sunday morning Ms. Rice should awaken (and perhaps eat breakfast) and then
immediately get back into bed and stay there for the rest of the day!
PRESIDENTIAL MISCUES & BLUNDERS
But again what about
President Obama himself?
How could this narcissistic leader -- who always sees himself as the smartest person in the room -- so badly muck up the announcement of Sgt. Bergdahls release from Taliban captivity?
After all as previously mentioned the president brought the soldiers parents to the Rose Garden to make the big announcement on live TV.
There was no mention of Bergdahls questionable conduct in Afghanistan because it would have been political hari kari to mention that little complication since Bergdahls parents were standing right beside him (receiving a giant presidential bear hug).
And who else but reality-challenged Barack Obama would believe that the American people would immediately leave their homes to take to the streets & celebrate this amazing foreign-policy achievement?
HEY WERE NOT FINISHED YET
But dont stop reading now!
Were just beginning to document the giant disconnect between the ruling Washington elite and the rest of us peasant folk:
For example lets have a look at the
latest Gallup polls (traditionally skewered in favor of liberal Democrats because of Gallups outdated polling methodology).
On June 30 2014 the latest Gallup press release metaphorically screamed:
AMERICANS LOSING CONFIDENCE IN ALL BRANCHES OF U.S. GOVT
-- Confidence hits six-year low for presidency; record lows for Supreme Court Congress."
According to Gallup spokesperson Justin McCarthy Americans confidence in all three branches of the U.S. government had fallen reaching
RECORD LOWS for (1) the Supreme Court (30); (2) Congress (7); and a six-year low for president Obama (29) -- down seven percentage points from the previous rating of 36.
Gracious! This is used-car-salesmen territory!
But then again how many Americans would now trust Barack Obama enough to buy a used car from him -- he would likely be flogging a used Buick ...
WHAT ABOUT THE LATEST QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY POLL?
And while were referencing opinion polls it hard not to mention the results of yesterdays Quinnipiac poll which reported that respondents (many of them liberal Democrats) rated
Barack Obama as
the worst president since World War II (beating out George W. Bush & Jimmy Carter for the top spot in this presidential-losers race).
YES WE HAVE MORE TO SAY
But were still not quite finished yet ...
Just like a typical TV infomercial were still about to briefly document
TWO MORE liberal elitist outrages
and all for the price of one!
For example how about liberal Democrats long scurrilous war on conservative Tea Party followers & enthusiasts?
TEA PARTY AND TEABAGGERS
In the wake of the 2008 presidential election numerous small groups began to organize around the idea of promoting a policy agenda which stressed among others the following guiding principles: (a) shrinking the size of government; (b) returning to the traditional family values of the past; (c) reinvigorating traditional constitutional law as envisaged by the founding fathers (checks & balances between all three branches of government); (d) reviving free-enterprise capitalism as originally espoused by Adam Smith --
particularly reducing taxes; and perhaps most important (e) emphasizing the primacy of the rule of law in interactions between government & citizens
protecting the constitutional right of ordinary citizens to be free from government interference in their lives (including restrictions on the use of executive authority by the White House).
Just as important in July 2010 Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MO) created the House Tea Party Caucus effectively incorporating the Tea Party movement into the institutional structure of the Republican Party.
And thanks to these kind of developments the Republicans won a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2010 national elections
-- with much of their their success directly attributed (by friends & foes) to the participation of the TEA PARTY movement.
TEABAGGERS?
And what has been the response of the liberal democratic elite to the ascendancy of the Tea Party movement in American politics?
In my opinion to revert to the bitter condescending name calling which has recently become typical of their ilk.
For example as early as April 2009 anchors on
CNN and MSNBC took to using the pejorative term
teabaggers" to make fun of
Tea Party members (who didnt reside in the enlightened urban meccas of Washington New York City or Californias left coast").
And in November 2013
President Barack Obama even used the vulgar expression tea-baggers" to refer to Tea Party members in a letter he wrote to a Texas grade school teacher.
Whether the president actually knew the origin of this sexual slang term is unknown.
But regardless according to several online dictionaries a
tea bagger" is
slang for:
a person who tea-bags" a sexual partner.
And if youre easily freaked out please skip the following dictionary description of what tea bagging" is:
A slang term for the sexual act of a man placing his scrotum in the mouth of a willing sexual partner for pleasure or onto the face or head of another person (so called because of its resemblance to the custom of dipping of a tea bag into a cup of hot water as a method of brewing tea).
Talk about smug elitist arrogance and political mud slinging!
LOST IN IRS SPACE
Finally to document just how distanced the Obama White House has become from the folks in flyover country" lets just quickly review the recent coincidental loss of hundreds of e-mails documenting the targeting (unconstitutional persecution) of conservative groups by
the IRS for many years.
Obviously fearing the ignorant American masses will rise up in election protest if they find out the truth this executive branch of government (ultimately answerable to the president) claims that it has
accidentally lost all the relevant e-mail messages & printouts of IRS bully girl Lois I Take The Fifth" Lerner.
As Charles Krauthammer nastily commented on this IRS revelation: These guys are living on a different planet. They Congress asked for this information a year ago and its now discovered that it is all lost ...
Nixon lost

Obama has now lost

And continued Krauthammer one thing that people dont remember is that the second article of
