The Christian Church needs to Judge Rightly

Image I have listened to Denver area media personality in his own right turned pastor Bob Enyart off and on over the years (radio TV back to radio and internet) and eventually in his quest to correct" believers regarding some of the statements that Jesus made about judging I came around to his worldview on this. Keep in mind however that I am not someone that is interested in joining his group of Christians for I prefer to do my own thinking in the long run or at least work on my own salvation if Bob Enyart truly got something wrong in his overall teaching. However I do agree with his statements about how the Christian church got Matthew 7 slightly wrong. Let me break this down. Matthew 7:1 simply says; Judge not that you be not judged..." But you and I know their is more to that statement. Verses 2-5; ...For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brothers eye but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother Let me take the speck out of your eye when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite first take the log out of your own eye and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brothers eye." OK so what is Jesus Christ saying here? If you judge then the person you are judging can and will have the right to judge you back...fair enough. The people that you accuse just might know about your shortcomings. By the way Rule number four of Saul Alinskys Rules for Radicals states; Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." This is were leftist progressives love to corner Christians and other people of faith. They know that most cant live up to their own book of rules...even if we do the best in doing so. After all even the best broke Gods core law...the Ten Commandments. But this is where Jesus talks about the log in your eye and mine. We need to exam ourselves but also own up to our own shortcomings and make no excuses for them. That way we can confront our neighbor about their shortcomings and warn them about their choices and how those choices could impact others good and bad. Jesus is rebuking us for our shortcomings calling us to repent. We repent and then we can call our friends neighbors and families members to repent themselves. However way to many Christian ministries these days just quote Matthew 7:1 and stop. That my friends is downright foul play regardless if they know it or not. The passage that Christians should really adopt is John 7:24; Do not judge by appearances but judge with right judgment" or with righteous judgement. Enyart had a campaign with t-shirts declaring Judge Righty is not Some Guys Name." Now maybe...just maybe...their is a surname out their with the name Rightly but the point should not be overlooked. God does command his people to Judge Righty or judge with the right judgement or righteous judgement. Thanks to Enyart more Christians even if it is still a small number have come around and are speaking out with boldness on this. Apparently thanks to Bob Enyart and coming from Enyart himself 700 Club host Pat Robertson has been able to make a case for the Death Penalty and why the New Testament did not abolish it. I shall save that for another piece. Now what about the brother that sins against you and all that jazz? Glad you have asked. Let us go over that passage in Matthew 18:15-17 . If your brother sins against you go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you you have gained your brother. But if he does not listen take one or two others along with you that every charge may be established by the evidence of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector." Notice that you are suppose to tell your brother his fault and if they listen to you (i.e. repent) than by Gods command you are to forgive your brother. Now the remaining passages do pertain to the church government and people within the church and going up to the point in which the church may need to excommunicate people until they submit to church authority and to God. Still dont miss the point of someone who sins against you. If they committing sins that does great harm to not only Christians but harms the social order we need to confront them and demand that they change and with that change we can present the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dont forgive someone who has a bias against Christians and continues to mock them. Dont forgive someone who keeps killing the preborn and encourages others to do the same. Dont forgive the person who has committed murder and has not repented and cried out to God for mercy. Dont forgive someone who continues to lie cheat cons and steals from others. The list goes on and on but you get the ideal. Automatic Forgiveness makes repentance unnecessary. Now maybe Christians know better and that they need to confess but its the pagans that believe that they dont need to repent and thus they will keep doing what they doing...no surprise but I do think they have been forgiven by God and his people. Well his people might have forgiven them but God has not and come judgement day they will figure out that they have received cheap grace by too many of Gods people. Also read Luke 17: 1-4. I dont think that God is hateful but loving. Keep in mind that at the same time he must bring down the sword of justice and too often than not...its harsh. God is love but he is also Just (as in Justice). We must require our neighbor to repent before we pass forgiveness on to them. This is also evangelism and a type of evangelism that need to be practiced more and more. I think the only reason why America has become an empire in decline is because of Christians who roll over and play dead while the pagans look at them with scorn and continue to deconstruct our culture. We are not going to have a revival unless their are people who take a bold stand for Gods Law and Gospel. We must declare our Fear of God to the masses that their is a God and we where created in his image and that we are condemned to eternal damnation unless we repent and ask Christ to forgive us. People respect honesty even if they might kill you and me for that honesty. We must be honest we must give our neighbor tough love before their chance at redemption is long gone. We must judge rightly forgive only when our neighbors repent and warn them about their eventual judgement day and how to turn away from the road to Hell and on to the Highway to Heaven...and I dont mean the Michael Landon TV series. We must return to a foundation of Repentance" so that the Christian Faith can reach out to the many who are lost. You want a revival in America you want a foundation of Repentance.
