I tried to watch the Academy Awards with my wife on Sunday night February 22ndbut I could not get through the entire event. It has been several years since I watched an entire Academy Awards presentation and I now know why.The organization behind this self-congratulatory left wing extremist love fest that hands out trophies called Oscars" to overpaid prima-donna sycophants is called the International Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. In 1927 Louis B. Mayer the head MGM Studios organized a group to benefit the motion picture industry and founded the academy. An academy is described as an institution of secondary education or higher learning. Im not sure the title academy should be used to describe people that go through life pretending to be someone else. How many actors could graduate from a military law enforcement or science academy? After about ten minutes I had already had enough of the awards presentation and went into the other room. I asked my wife call me if anything interesting happened.I have to admit that I have only been to a movie theater four times in the last ten years so needless to say I have not seen any of the movies that were selected for awards.I am a movie fan but I prefer to watch movies from the 1940s 50s and 60s on television. In the 1940s and 1950s the movie studios had a lot of control of their actors and kept them out of politics and there was no political correctness in those days.I came back into the room in time to see an actress named Patricia Arquette accept an award for the best actress in a supporting role.As she accepted the Oscar she began to rant about equal rights and equal pay for women. It should be noted that her net worth is about $24000.000.Two multi millionaires named Merle Streep and Jennifer Lopez almost screwed themselves into the ceiling as they jumped out of their seats applauding Arquette as Lopez raised her arm and closed fist in a radical power salute.Streep is worth $45000.000 and Jenny from the block" as Lopez likes to refer to herself as is worth $300000.000.It would be interesting to see the pay scales of these prima donnas personal assistants nannies drivers housekeepers body guards and other employees.I have taken three courses in constitutional law in the past year and we have not covered the part yet in the constitution that describes rights for men that women do not have in this country. When liberals talk about the glass ceiling" they often state that women make 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. They fail to point out that men and women do not always do the same exact job. If these figures are correct companies should hire women only and show a profit increase of 33.After the Arquette rant I went back to the other room. I returned several minutes later at the end of a song being performed that was written for the movie Selma."One of the performers/writers of the song named John Legend was accepting the award for the song and he decided to lecture the audience about black men in correctional custody. He reminded the audience that the United States of America has more people in prison than any other country in the world. The sycophants in the audience where on the edge of their seats with tears running down their cheeks as he told them and the television viewers that there are now more young black men in correctional custody" then there were young black men enslaved before the civil war.Correctional custody refers to prison jail parole and probation and John Legends facts were not correct. The population of the U.S.A. in 1860 was 31443.327. The total number of young black men 16 years and older was 872924.The population of the U.S.A. in 2015 is estimated at 320000.000. The entire black population of this country is estimated at 42000.000. It appears that John Legend misspoke but Im sure the audience only heard what they wanted to hear. And then for the icing on the cake Sean Penn the pal of former Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez announced the winner of the Best Director award for the movie Birdman.A Mexican National named Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu came forward to accept his award and spent a minute or two suggesting that his country and the United States both needed to work on the immigration problem that affects so many hard working Mexican nationals that come to this country. He didnt say the illegal word but everyone most likely knew where he was heading. The audience cheered cried and applauded as I walked out of the room.
