Hip hop artist Nicki Minaj stunned the audience at Turning Point USA’s (TPUSA) annual AmericaFest conference in Phoenix with her appearance on the last day. The rapper came out on stage Sunday with Erika Kirk, the widow of TPUSA’s late CEO and co-founder Charlie Kirk, who has replaced him as CEO.
Minaj praised President Donald Trump. “I have the utmost respect and admiration for our president.” She discussed the lawfare against him. “Even in the worst feeling times in your life, you think you’re never going to come back from it, but you do, and our president shows that he’s been through every single thing a person could be publicly.”
She addressed some of the criticism of Trump, stating that people should not criticize him “until you are in that person’s shoes that’s being lied about. You’ll never understand what it feels – like that’s a human being. They have a family who has to read those lies. And that’s not, and it’s just not fair.”
She said about Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, “This administration is full of people with heart and soul, and they make me proud of them. They’re both powerful men, smart, strong, but both of them have a very uncanny ability to be someone that you relate to, and relate to them when I hear them speak. I know that they’re one of us. … They have the ability to still connect and be real and make us feel proud to be American.”
