Pinal County Attorney Brad Miller filed a Motion to Dismiss in the lawsuit against him from the Pinal County Board of Supervisors (PCBOS), which challenged his 287(g) agreement with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for roving patrols.
In an X post, Miller said, “The people of Pinal County deserve the truth. The BOS filed a lawsuit against PCAO — then tried to argue it in the media. We’re breaking our silence. We’ve filed our response. Here are the facts. The law is clear. County Attorney Brad Miller stands for what’s right — for Pinal County.”
In a video attached to the post, Miller specifically called out the chair of the board, Jeffrey McClure. “The board is being purposefully deceptive and covering up their own accomplishments, and has decided to deal with these issues through the media, instead of having a conversation or inviting me to address these issues directly at work,” he said. “Instead of handling these issues as professionals — information [is] being leaked to reporters — the chair has purposefully caused these issues, and I asked the board to work with me instead of turning this into a political vendetta.”
He criticized the PCBOS’ handling of a recent election. “This is the same board that the Supreme Court of Arizona said illegally taxed you and owe you about $50 million,” Miller said. “They failed you in the 2022 election, and it was so bad it nearly overturned the results of that election. They’ve also recently been held in contempt by a Pinal County Superior Court Judge for failing to comply with the court order.”
