Judicial Group Files Complaint Against Judges Who Attempted to Remove Trump Appointee Alina Habba as U.S. Attorney

After a panel of judges refused to extend Trump appointee Alina Habba’s term as U.S. Attorney for New Jersey, the Article III Project (A3P) announced it was filing a complaint against the New Jersey judges.

A3P said last month the panel violated Canons 2, 3, and 5 of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges, allowing partisan politics to influence its decision. The judges installed Habba’s assistant to replace her, but Attorney General Pam Bondi fired her hours later and appointed Habba as the interim U.S. Attorney.

“House Democrat Leader @hakeemjeffries corruptly gave 17 New Jersey U.S. district judges their marching orders: Fire New Jersey U.S. Attorney @AlinaHabba,” founder Mike Davis posted on X. Hakeem Jeffries did this after Alina Habba brought an indictment against a low-life Democrat House member who allegedly assaulted federal immigration officers. And these New Jersey activist judges — 15 of whom were appointed by Obama and Biden — saluted.”

Bondi hinted that she would investigate the judges. “[Habba] has been doing a great job in making NJ safe again,” she posted on X. “Nonetheless, politically minded judges refused to allow her to continue in her position, replacing Alina with the First Assistant. Accordingly, the First Assistant United States Attorney in New Jersey has just been removed. This Department of Justice does not tolerate rogue judges — especially when they threaten the President’s core Article II powers.”
