I discussed some of the complex areas that are or should be an integral part of any discussions about how to end what has become all too common. It must be admitted that gun free zones" do not work. It may give those who demand them along with gun confiscation a good feeling but they have proven to be ineffective. The vast Majority of these shootings take place in gun free zones because the perpetrator understands that the chaos they want will take place before any law enforcement can get there.
Arming teachers giving them thorough training and allowing to conceal carry in the schools is terrifying to some but would allow an immediate response to any confrontation with a criminal who means to do children harm.
Jimmy Kimmell a bastion of tolerance and intelligence has taken to saying that those against gun control are allegedly Christian". He lied about the roll back of Social Security recipients having their guns taken And like other no information celebrities once again claims that the NRA is some gun obsessed organization wh only wants to make money and shovels piles of cash to gun advocates. Looking at the numbers from the top spenders in lobbying from Open Secrets the NRA is not even in the top 50. Even the students protesting across the country have attempted to make the NRA the bad guys with little or no information to back up the accusations they try to foist on the American people.
And by the way Jimmy Boy do you also condemn groups like

Who is calling for people to kill Republican lawmakers who support the NRA or is that okay with you. This group posts such things as :
You remember the shooting at the Republican baseball game? One of those should happen EVERY WEEK until those NRA funded sons of bitches do something about this."
Is this the tolerance that you are looking for little Jimmy? Isnt this just advocating for another form of terrorism to get what you want? This is the reason why gun owners will never give up their guns. The shooting that day seriously injured Congressman Steve Scalise and would have been a lot worse if not for the protection of the Capitol Hill Police. Isnt this the same as what you advocating against a terrorist using a firearm on those who does not agree with.
Gun confiscation is a total non-starter. It cant be done without a constitutional amendment and states rights can be used to make ownership of a firearm more difficult it cant take your guns away. Restrictions on gun ownership and concealed carry that are in place in Democrat cities and states have proven to actually increase shootings in gang activities and increased the level of criminality throughout the city. Look to Chicago a city with the strictest gun laws and the countless gang murders in the last five years. No amount of gun restrictions including gun confiscation would do anything to bring these numbers down. The simple fact is that criminals dont follow the law.
In the administration of Obama they tried to take firearms away from those on Social Security who needed financial help. President Trump rescinded that order and this is what the progressive socialists are whining about that Trump made it easier for persons suffering from mental illness to buy a gun. This is only one of many lies told by those looking to confiscate firearms from law abiding citizens. One of those who approved of the Presidents actions on this regulation was the ACLU. Once again media and talking heads lies to push the agenda.
Concealed carry permits have increased exponentially under Obama the law abiding citizens felt that they should get as many as possible because the Obama administration or any other progressive socialist for that matter would go after the 2
nd Amendment rights of the law abiding citizens. It has been pontificated by the anti gun organizations that this would cause a return to the Wild West" with people dying in the streets.What these organizations will not admit and has been shown time and time again to be a fact is that the murder rates showed a substantial drop when the concealed carry went up.
Many of these mass shooters have some things in common mental illness or a violent past. A violent past is a already covered by a background check and I agree there needs to be a way to assess a persons mental fitness to own a firearm as part of a background check. Will this stop all of these people who are deemed mentally ill from getting a firearm? Perhaps not but also needed is a more comprehensive approach to looking into the mental fitness of anyone buying a firearm. Parameters must be set at the Federal level as to what constitutes a mental health problem. The mass shooters in the past have been labeled as suffering from depression as being bipolar and would that be enough to lose the right to own a firearm.
Not mentioned is the proliferation of psychotic drugs being dispensed to both adults and children. As discussed in part one of this column the side effects of these drugs on vulnerable people has been a trigger many times in these massacres.
One of the lead organizations of the gun control stalwarts if Everytown USA founded and run by Bloomberg. Since the Parkland shooting they have disseminated the talking point that there has been 18 shooting on alevel with Parkland so far in 2018. Looking into the descriptions an informed reader would see that there was only one of the type that occurred at Parkland. It occurred at Marshall County High School in Benton Kentucky. What were the others?
2 suicides on school grounds
4 were shots through school windows when no one was there. No arrest no injuries
2 were shots fired on campus. No arrests no injuries
2 other occasions where a gun was fired inside a school one a child who pulled the triggers of a law enforcements gun. No arrests no injuries
3 students injured in separate school shooting
5 injured in an accidental shooting in Los Angeles
1 football player killed in a North Carolina shooting.
1 32 year old man shot and killed in a fight in a school in Pennsylvania.
Not mentioned by Everytown is that from 1950 through February 2016 there were only three mass shootings where the general public was allowed to carry firearms. In the reports that Everytown puts out to cause fear in low information voters is the fact that they never even ask if these shootings occur in gun free zone. They know the answer and will do everything they can to hide this information from the public. It doesnt meet the agenda of taking all law abiding citizens guns that they attempt to push on the American people.
Gun control advocates are doing everything they can to limit to amount of concealed carry in their locales. In 2015 San Francisco a sanctuary city only issued 4 concealed carry permits. One to a personal lawyer of the Country Sherriff and three to judges a total of .00053 of the adults in the San Francisco area. Florida before the concealed carry permit had a case where five people were killed at work by a former employee at a company where concealed carry was banned. Another mall shooting at Monroeville mall near Pittsburgh a Seattle Pacific University shooting 6 killed in Santa Barbara where the entire city is considered a gun free zone a mass shooting at FedEx in Kennesaw Georgia and others all in specified gun free zones.
It is time to be honest with the American people. Gun Free Zones do not work. The gun toting Bible thumpers that the progressive socialist and media love to denigrate will have a voice in this confrontation. Not a word was heard from anyone in the media about the Fast and Furious" debacle that Eric Holder and Obama planned that has lead to the deaths of hundreds in Mexico and the Death of Brian Terry and perhaps others.
There needs to be a serious and honest discussion of gun control and the limitations that need to be placed on those individuals that have been found to be a danger to society as a whole. But the twiting of facts done by organizations such as Everytown and the complicity of the mainstream media to push these lies forward do nothing to help find a workable answer.
