Guns and the G-dless Left

Two bloodbaths that left a total of 31 people dead and dozens injured should have brought a unified response from Republicans and Democrats.   There could have been contempt directed toward the culprits and compassion for the victims families.  The Democrats have shown no compassion for the victims.   They are opportunists all of whom will do and say anything to win elections.  Theyve exploited these shootings to attack President Trump and their actions are shameful. Their initial battle cry called out for more gun control laws because thats what Democrats do.    Sens. Chuck Schumer Kirsten Gillibrand Beto ORourke Corey Booker et al. immediately began their gun control tirade.  The Democrats should have the decency to be respectful and remain silent. This time it wasnt enough to blame guns.   Enter white supremacy" and finger-pointing at President Trump for his so-called racist rhetoric."  If there is guilt by association then that means Republican conservatives who voted for President Trump must be supremacists too. Beto ORourke has no chance of winning the nomination and is desperate.  But he compared President Trumps words to the Third Reich.  This is disgusting and is an insult to Jewish Americans who support President Trump including myself.   President Trump has done more to protect Israel than any president in history.  The deranged individuals responsible for the carnage in the Texas and Ohio shootings are to blame for their actions.   What motivated them to snap and commit mass murder had nothing to do with Democrats or Republicans. The Democrats inflammatory rhetoric to paint President Trump as a white supremacist is horrendous.    For those not old enough to remember Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) was one of the longest-serving members of the U.S. Senate. Byrd was once Kleagle and Exalted Cyclops of the Ku Klux Klan. Joe Biden served in the Senate while Byrd was Senator and eulogized him at his funeral.   And Biden draws a comparison between President Trump and the Klan?   Come on! As a reasoned rational person I am perfectly willing to have a discussion on guns because I am concerned about the ease with which firearms and ammunition can be taken across state lines.   But dont blame massacres committed by two maniacs on Americans who happen to be Republicans. I support the Second Amendment as I wrote in my column last year on the Tree of Life Synagogue massacre in Pittsburgh.   I still maintain that people kill people and that guns are not even the deadliest weapons.   What about arson cars and bombs?   Here is what I wrote in 2018: Millennials were not born when the Happy Land Social Club fire happened back in 1990. In that mass murder 87 people were trapped inside the building and died. The first known incident of vehicular homicide occurred in 1973 in Prague. A woman rammed into eight people with a truck. At the Oklahoma City massacre 168 people died and over 680 were injured. Anti-firearm legislation would never have stopped these crimes." There was the Boston Marathon bombing which killed three people and left 16 people with lost limbs.   And now that its the 50th anniversary of the Manson murders and there are a stream of movies and books glorifying that maniac lets not forget the weapons that were used to slaughter the five people at the house on Cielo Drive.   Actually six people were left dead but Manson and his killer cult were only charged with five murders.  Thanks to the California abortion law passed in 1969 Sharon Tates unborn child was not counted as a victim. The media has fed into this white supremacy" narrative and even blame violence on climate change."    Columnist Richard Cohens recent article in the Washington Post is supposed to be about the Second Amendment and gun control.  But then Cohen goes off on a tangent about climate change writing that Republicans have gone back to the dark ages" and that we dont support science.   Thats funny…I recall that its the Democrats who ignore scientific advancements that allow fetal surgery and advanced ultrasound provides clear images of children in the womb.   Pro-abortion Democrats blame us for not paying heed to science on THEIR issues but ignore science when its OUR issues.   Perhaps Richard Cohen should read the book Climate change:  The Facts 2017."    Hed discover there are other opinions on global warming" which many scientists claim is a hoax. Gun control is putting a bandage on a wound that cant heal.   What is causing the madness in our culture now is a chasm between conservatives who honor G-d and hold traditional values and the radical ideologues who want to subvert those values as they see fit.  We can still go through legitimate means via the election process but how long will this work?  They benefit by mainstream media lies George Soros and other billionaires setting up fundraising networks for dangerous causes and a public school system that is indoctrinating kids to all kinds of perversions.   Even if President Trump wins re-election how can we stop the radical left in 2024?   Or later?   Our prospects seem bleak indeed. Thousands of babies are murdered by abortion each day up to birth.   Baby body parts are being sold by Planned Parenthood.   If an abortionist kills an infant moments before delivery its legal.   If a mother kills her newborn moments after delivery she goes to jail.   Elderly and disabled people are being euthanized often against their will.   Our lawmakers diminish and devalue life.   As long as our lawmakers send out mixed messages that sometimes life has value and sometimes not our culture will remain sick. So dont blame President Trump or guns or anything going on in society today as a result of politics.     Mass murders always were a part of our lives because people are not basically good.   Thats why religious instruction is just as important as compulsory education.  Our nation requires an overhaul and must be rebuilt from the ground up to repair the damage of the last 60 years.   Reverence for G-d and prayer must be included as an integral part of all our lives for our young people and in the public square.   The tragedy is that the secular left still doesnt get it.   ©Bonnie Chernin Bonnie Chernin is the Founder of Jews For Life the first pro-life website reflecting traditional Jewish pro-life values on abortion and assisted suicide.
