FBI Serves Criminal Subpoena from Grand Jury on Arizona Senate for Records from Maricopa County’s 2020 Election

A grand jury has issued a criminal subpoena from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) demanding records from the Arizona Senate for electronic voting records related to Maricopa County’s 2020 election, Just the News reported on Sunday. The Arizona Senate conducted an independent audit of that election, which found numerous discrepancies, but it was never fully conducted because Maricopa County refused to turn over much of the records and equipment.

President Donald Trump posted on TruthSocial, linking to the article, “Great!!! FBI secretly seizes election records from Arizona’s largest county as voting probe expands.”

Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen (R-Gilbert) confirmed the subpoena on X. “President Trump is 100% correct,” he said on Monday, with a screenshot of Trump’s post. “Late last week I received and complied with a federal grand jury subpoena for records relating to the Arizona State Senate’s 2020 audit of Maricopa County. The FBI has the records. Any other report is fake news.”

Tyler Bowyer of Turning Point Action responded to the article. “For those following along at home — Maricopa County is the hotbed for election manipulation scheming,” he said in a post on X mentioning Democratic Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, who was the Maricopa County Recorder in 2020. “In 2020 we have no idea still what exactly Adrian Fontes was doing or who he was talking to. In 2022, we still have no answers as to why nearly half of the polling places shut down on Election Day — altering the entire election.”
