Democrats Resort to Lawfare, Hand Picking Leftist Judges to Stop Trump’s Massive Mandate

Despite the fact the American people awarded Republicans a strong mandate by electing Donald Trump as president again and giving Republicans control of both chambers of Congress, Democrats are trying to corruptly undermine this mandate by shopping for left-wing judges in blue areas who will predictably stop Trump’s new policies. The presiding judge in a jurisdiction assigns which judge gets to hear any particular case, and even if some allege they’re assigned randomly, insiders know this is a lie. Many of these U.S. District Court judges are already blocking Trump’s policies.

Within minutes after Trump’s inauguration, several left-wing activist organizations filed three lawsuits in far left Washington D.C. over DOGE. The lawsuits argued that DOGE violates the law, claiming it’s not transparent nor has a balanced membership. However, the administration said DOGE is not a federal advisory committee so those requirements do not apply. Similarly, the far left Center for Biological Diversity filed a lawsuit demanding access to records revealing DOGE communications with the White House.

Twenty-two Democratic state attorneys general along with radical left-wing organizations filed lawsuits challenging Trump’s executive order ending birthright citizenship. Lawsuits were filed in very blue Maryland and Washington state. First, Judge Deborah Boardman, who was appointed to the bench in Maryland by Biden, granted a temporary injunction halting the order. In 2023, Boardman denied a request for a preliminary injunction seeking to reinstate a school board policy that allowed parents to remove their children from lessons involving books featuring LGBTQ characters. In 2024, she ruled against a Trump administration policy and in favor of environmentalist groups, forcing oil and gas companies to halt operations in the Gulf of Mexico.

John C. Coughenour in Seattle granted a similar injunction. Coughenour opposes federal mandatory minimum sentences for a variety of crimes. He found Washington State's Sexually Violent Predator Law to be "criminal in nature,” and struck it down as violating the Constitution. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed his sentencing of a terrorist for being too lenient and not following the sentencing guidelines.

Far left groups representing federal employees filed a lawsuit in D.C. challenging the administration’s steps to dismantle USAID by placing employees on administrative leave. The case was predictably assigned to Judge Carl Nichols, who refused to dismiss lawsuits brought by Dominion Voting Systems against Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Mike Lindell. Nichols temporarily blocked the order.

GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders and the National Center for Lesbian Rights, representing a transgender inmate, filed a lawsuit in D.C. challenging Trump’s executive order barring biological males from women’s prisons. Judge Royce Lamberth, who issued some of the longest sentences against the J6ers, predictably blocked the order.

Twenty-two Democratic state attorneys general and several left wing activists filed a lawsuit in D.C. and blue Rhode Island challenging the OMB’s directive to federal agencies to pause grants and loans for DEI, the Green New Deal, etc. In Rhode Island, they were assigned Obama appointee Judge John McConnell Jr., who blocked the freeze. McConnell ruled against the Second Amendment in 2022, holding that the state could ban high-capacity gun magazines.

In D.C., they were assigned Judge Loren AliKhan, also a Biden appointee, who predictably blocked the freeze. While serving as the solicitor general for D.C., AliKhan joined 16 Democratic states responding to a lawsuit filed by Texas that challenged Obamacare. She also had a role in the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit against Trump, which contributed to the jury finding him culpable.

Nineteen Democratic state attorneys general sued to stop DOGE from cleaning up the Department of Treasury. They chose to file in very blue New York state, where they got Obama-appointed Judge Paul Engelmayer assigned to the case. He immediately granted an injunction prohibiting much of the team from accessing the payment system. Engelmayer ruled in favor of Planned Parenthood previously, striking down a rule under the previous Trump administration that interpreted federal laws allowing medical providers to decline to provide services like abortion based on their conscience.

Nine anonymous FBI agents sued the DOJ to stop the Trump administration from learning more about their roles going after J6ers. They filed the lawsuit in Washington D.C. and predictably got a Biden appointed judge assigned to the case, Judge Jia M. Cobb. Cobb has rulings against J6 defendants, so should have recused herself.

And predictably, far left activist and election litigator Marc Elias is representing federal unions in a lawsuit attempting to stop Trump’s buyout of federal employees. He filed the lawsuit in very blue Massachusetts, where of course a Clinton appointee, Judge George A. O’Toole Jr., was assigned to the case. O’Toole immediately put a hold on the program. Over 60,000 employees had already accepted the buyout.

After Trump’s election win, Elias wrote an article stating that Democrats must fight back using the courts. “One of the most important lessons from the last eight years is that the courts matter,” he said. “Many of the resistance’s successes were fueled by lawsuits.” He admitted, “More than half of federal judges were appointed by Democratic presidents. Many state courts are controlled by liberals. Litigation is one of the most important tools to protect democracy and we must use every tool we have.”

Just Security is tracking all of the lawsuits against the Trump administration, and Forbes is following the major ones. There are 41 so far.

The founders set up the three branches of government to be co-equal, not for a handful of rogue judges to abuse one branch and overturn the DEMOCRATIC will of the people. Trump’s agenda will get nowhere if these corrupt, rogue judges aren’t exposed. Rep. Darrell Issa of California said on Saturday that he will be introducing legislation this week “to stop these rogue judges and allow Trump and DOGE to tell you where government is spending your money.” Keep the sunlight exposing these judges, since the MSM won’t reveal their backgrounds — only pointing out the rare ones who were appointed by Republican presidents and deliberately failing to reveal their leftist records.
