COVID-19 Thoughts Part 95: The wrath of Janis Ian...yes really.

Many in the Entertainment & Arts that are household names in America, if not the whole world are not true believers in Jesus Christ, nor are they Conservative.  Sure, Adam Sandler sang in the first of five “Chanukah” songs, that “so many Jews" are indeed "in showbiz” (the followups would have the same melody and the lists of different Jewish people in the limelight).  They have been very “liberal” for many years however, and sadly in recent years they have become openly Cultural Marxists (don't remind me that Karl Marx was Jewish).  Those who are Jews in the world of showbiz may honor their heritage as they should, but they really don’t honor their faith but rather embrace the values or the lack them off of the pagan/secular culture that surrounds them which is a far cry from honor the Torah, especially the Ten Commandments and other common-sense laws of God.

Many in the E&A were very happy to see Donald J. Trump defeated in favor of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr, who is now the 46th President of the United States, with Kamala Devi Harris waiting in wings to take over once Biden can’t handle the work any longer or should Biden pass away suddenly.  Their celebration along with an overjoyed media proves this…coupled with the bread and circus prime time special put on by the media, and carried over the three alphabet networks.

I don’t go around on social media pages of celebrities and tell them they are wrong and out of touch.  It really is a waste of time.  They are entitled to their opinion.  I have done my own social distancing from some of these fools who think they are wise…here, their, more, less.   I have a real-life friend who responded by a statement that was a picture with the caption “Let us be judged by the shadow we cast” posted by Janis Ian.  Ian is best known for her smash hit from 1975, At Seventeen.  The song was marketed as a soft rock/pop ballad (actually has a more bossa nova/jazz sound, not to mention it rode on the success of Phoebe Snow’s Poetry Man which came before it) and became a top five hit peaking at #3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and #4 on the Radio & Records (R.I.P.) Top 40/CHR airplay chart in September 1975.   My friend said; “Everyone tho. Not just folks you disagree with, right?  I responded directly to my friend by saying; “Sadly No. Musicians and Artists tend to not only challenge God, but to Be Like God. Been this way for years. Why so many of them reject God and his Law.”

To my astonishment, Janis Ian herself responded to our statements…especially mine and man she was ticked off.

(Name withheld), unlike what Don McCullen says, and insinuates, it is across the board. And I really don't know why he assumes so many artists reject God, unless Don thinks his way and his way alone know what "God" is. I would say 90% of the artists I've worked with over my lifetime believe in some form of a higher being, no matter what you call it.
We all need to stand as tall as we can, and provide shade for others, right?

I think you have a lot of nerve coming on here and posting with the assumption that most artists reject God. ANY God. Unless you come from the school of "My God is the only god, my Way is the only way?" in which event you're probably in the wrong place.

Our job is to be creators. We feel closest to God during the act of creation. I see you are a follower of Christ - did He not say "The least among you shall be greater than me"?

And yet, your page is full of fake news and suppositions, and assumptions like the one you've just made.
I am a Jew, just like Jesus was. He wasn't a Christian, and he didn't start Christianity. And he would never, ever, have sat in judgment the way you dare to sit in judgment.

I never thought I would get the wrath from Ian herself.  Well, I give her credit for speaking up for herself.  I felt it was a good time to respond but rather "not in kind," rather offering her a cold beverage of sorts…not really but hopefully you know what I mean.  I will not go over the whole response, but I did tell Ian that I am friends with person I was talking with and the friend affirmed this…and my agreement that Jesus Christ was Jewish himself and why the events in his life took place.  Where I really challenged her is on the concept of Judging and Judgement.

As for judging people, I only judged the collective. While many people mention; "Judge Not that You Be Not Judged," the one thing that many people overlook is where Jesus commanded his disciples to Judge with Righteous Judgement (John 7:24). You are not to judge based on appearance but by the actions made by people. Truth of matter is we all do.
You make judgement calls against the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), especially during the debate…on handling the issue of downloading music. I don't always agree with the RIAA either.

I reminded her that her fan base can not and will not hold the same views that she does, as with many other musicians and other artists…and in spite of the progressive group think in the entertainment & arts.

So Sparky, I can be nice when I want to be, but there are times to be mean and loud.  Just as the third chapter of Ecclesiastes points out, set to music by the Marxist folk musician Pete Seeger in his song Turn! Turn! Turn!, and popularized by The Byrds.
