Remember the organization Black Lives Matter (BLM for short) making news headlines during the rioting and looting that plagued our nation’s cities and suburbs for most of 2020?
Well they’re back and on the case of the mainstream media’s projected president-elect and vice president-elect.
In a November 7th letter penned to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, BLM co-founder and self-proclaimed Marxist, Patrisse Cullors, requested that they all meet to discuss her organization’s anticipations and priorities.
In speaking on behalf of herself and the other members of the BLM organization, Cullors congratulated Biden and Harris as well as expressed that they are “relieved that the Trump era in government is coming to a close. As we celebrate his electoral demise, we also know that his political exit does not ensure an end to the intolerable conditions faced by Black people in America.”
In addition to extending her congratulations, Cullors mentioned that “Without the resounding support of Black people, we would be saddled with a very different electoral outcome. In short, Black people won this election.” Additionally, she reminded the duo that BLM “invested heavily” in the election and that they “want something” in return for their vote.
Despite the letter’s accusation that the “United States has refused to directly reckon with the way that it devalues Black people and devastates our lives,” President Donald Trump has repeatedly touted his policies in shepherding record low unemployment to minority groups as well as increased take-home pay for a majority of Americans.
In concluding her letter, Cullors referenced Biden and Harris’s records. She pointed to their campaign trail and debate rhetoric on addressing systemic racism, and their expressed regret for the mass incarceration of Blacks over the past few decades under their watch.
Exactly what BLM is demanding in return from the Biden/Harris campaign is vague, but we can only imagine that mass reparations is only one item on their laundry list based on their openly Marxist ideologies.
Stay tuned for updates.
