Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes is again refusing to turn over the state’s voter registration list to the Department of Justice (DOJ), prompting a sharp rebuke from the Arizona Freedom Caucus (AFC). The AFC is composed of Arizona legislators who advocate for limited government and conservative values.

Alex Kolodin (R-Scottsdale), who is running against Fontes, in a press release from AFC. “This is not the first time that Secretary Fontes has simply refused to do his job and maintain clean and accurate voter rolls. Past litigation has demonstrated that he in fact has no record of compliance with the [National Voter Registration Act] NVRA. In fact, his refusal to comply with this request is the latest of many refusals on his part to follow the law. Secretary Fontes apparently thinks “just trust me” is an acceptable response to the DOJ, which is frankly appalling, given his track record.”
