The Arizona Freedom Caucus (AFC), a group of conservatives in the Arizona Legislature, held a press conference at the state capitol on Monday to express support for the work Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is doing to stop illegal immigration and associated crime. State Senator Jake Hoffman (R-Queen Creek), founder of the AFC, ran the press conference, which featured three parents who lost their children due to the porous border, known as Angel parents.
“Over the last four years, under the Biden administration and when Democrats were in control, our southern border was weaponized to allow upwards of 20 million illegal aliens, to allow them to invade our country, to allow them to break the laws and come here,” Hoffman said. “And many of those people were dangerous, criminal illegal aliens, people engaged in human trafficking, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, child trafficking, people who came to this country and committed murders who committed rapes, who committed sexual offenses, pedophiles.”
Hoffman put the blame squarely on the state’s leadership. “Now, what’s incredibly damaging in this country and in this state right now is that we have Democrats like Katie Hobbs, Adrian Fontes and Kris Mayes who are openly protecting those individuals, who are openly enabling, essentially empowering people to rebuke federal law enforcement activities to deport these criminal illegal aliens people who are committing crimes.”
He read the names of several children who were murdered by illegal immigrants, and said an entire family of five was also murdered. Almost all of them had Hispanic names.
