go to prison for 10 years and be fined as well.

But even if it doesnt rise to that level it may still be a felony. Federal employees cant reveal confidential information to the press without permission. Its considered
theft to convey any record voucher money or thing of value of the United States or of any department or agency thereof." It carries the same stiff penalty. Additionally federal employees are generally subject to nondisclosure agreements.
