Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ-05), who is running for governor of Arizona, announced that his running mate for lieutenant governor is Sine Kerr. Kerr served in the Arizona Senate for several years representing the West Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area centered around Buckeye in legislative districts 13 and 25.
“The daughter of an Army combat veteran and a naturalized U.S. citizen from Mexico, Sine Kerr has lived the American Dream,” he posted on X. “She’s worked as a dairy farmer in Buckeye for over 40 years and represented Maricopa and Yuma counties in the State Senate. She and her wonderful husband Bill of 46 years have raised their family of four children and twelve grandchildren in the West Valley and have embodied our Arizona values. Sine is strong, steady, and a fighter for Arizona. I couldn’t be more thrilled to name her as Arizona’s first nominee for Lieutenant Governor!”
Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen, who is running for attorney general, commended the selection. “Our next Governor @andybiggs4az picked a great Lt. Gov,” he said on X. “I’ve served with @SineKerr. She is a hard worker, ethical, tactful, respectful, great on water issues and always put AZ first. She will be an asset for the ticket.”
In 2021, she introduced an amendment to a bill that would have banned all abortions after a heartbeat is detected (about 6 weeks) unless the mother’s life was in danger. That same year, she also proposed a bill to strip the Arizona Corporation Commission of its power to set renewable energy portfolio standards for the state.Read the rest of the article
