A nation in darkness seeks a great light. Catholic and other Christian denomination voters can cast us out of this night of lies and moral relativity into the bright sunshine of a new day. We are a people and a nation of light, even when our politicians often seem lost in the dark.
Democrats can't find the light and so insist this election is more than a choice between competing views of government, instead they claim it's a vote on which our lives depend. Their dim rhetoric defines them.
Michel Obama said the following in her speech at this summer's Democrat National Convention, "we have got to vote for Joe Biden like our lives depend on it," and Alexis McGill Johnson, acting president of Planned Parenthood told NPR, "This is literally a life and death election."
For voters seeking illumination on their vote, the US Catholic Bishops' Conference voters' guide offers insight;
"We believe in life, that there is an immigration problem, and we need a humane solution to it, that the marriage of a man and a woman is the foundation of the family, that our Constitution heralds religious liberty in the First Amendment, and the growing disparity between rich and poor means most of the world’s resources are in the hands of a small percentage of its people. "
If we abide by these directives we can only pull the lever on behalf of President Trump.
Here's how the candidates' views align with the USCBC's advisory;
Trump = Life
Biden = Abortion on Demand, including partial and live-birth abortions, euthanasia, and "death panels".
Trump = Traditional Marriage
Biden = Unwavering Support for Gay Marriage
Trump = Orderly and legal immigration offers the most human solution to the problems of illegal immigration.
Biden = Open borders, and that the problems of illegal immigration need not be solved. Instead, this issue is used to manipulate immigrant populations for political gain.
Trump = Religious Liberty
Biden = Religious liberty is sacrificed to Liberal dogma. When religion infringes on liberal policy then less liberty is better. Exceptions to this liberty include; abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, transgender bathroom use, LGTBQ education, and church attendance restrictions based on public health exceptions.
Trump = Economic policies that improve the lives of all Americans. Reduced taxes, regulation, and lower unemployment is good for all. These Trump policies can reduce income disparity.
Biden = Economic policies that punish success and enrich government. A tax plan that decimates the middle class, shrinks the economy, and kills job growth. Bad economic policies result in greater income disparity.
On each point one can see the radiance inherent in Trump's policies and positions, while the darkness pervades Joe Biden's points of view.
Voting for President Trump does not endorse intemperate, and sometimes crude tweets. Rather, it's a vote to support and defend this country and our basic Christian values. That the vessel for defending religious liberty is a flawed and sinful person should not be a surprise. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God.

Cast your ballots, not stones, for the candidate whose beliefs and policies support Christ's teachings.
Cast your vote for life and in defense of our faith. Christian values are American values. These values are the epitome of inclusion, tolerance, and compassion. Christian, Jew, or Muslim, Republican or Democrat, these values are the foundation for this grand republic and essential to its future.
Trump's re-election will be the bright moment when people of faith voted their conscience to shine their light on a nation in darkness.
