Child of the Greatest Generation. Honoring Patriotism

The country just gone to war with Japan, and a new patriot is born in the small coastal town of New Bedford Massachusetts. The date is January 20th, 1942. Sit down and enjoy the memories of growing up as a Child of the Greatest Generation, who as a young boy, came to understand what patriotism and love of country meant to him. As the years go by take a journey with him and how he discovered a gift to write patriotic stories to paintings and photos that are found throughout the book mixed in with his memories. Such as "Just an Old Piece of Cloth," "Woman Warrior," "The Eagle." to name but a few and each with the photo or painting that inspired him. A book worth reading and sharing with friends and family.

A recent newspaper reviewer wrote the following.

The Epoch Times says one of the best patriotic books to come along in September.
A MUST READ. Book Review: ‘Child of the Greatest Generation’ Ever since 9/11, “God Bless the U.S.A” is the song that we hear often in September, but we don’t hear much about patriotic books. A new book that glorifies patriotism: Richard C. Rocha’s “Child of the Greatest Generation"

International best selling author LB "Brigid" Johnson wrote. Mr. Rocha has written a wonderful book for the times past, and even more importantly, the times present. With graceful but riveting prose as well as pictures that will move you. His book is a tribute to what our country once was and can still be.

Daniel Allen Butler  5.0 out of 5 on Amazon wrote. Patriotism -- the first redoubt of the honorable man
This is a curious little book -- curious in a good way. In part a collection of short essays on patriotism, in part an autobiography of a man who grew up an unapologetic American patriot, it stands boldly but quietly in defiance of the cynics who hold that patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel, asserting instead that it is the first redoubt of the honorable man. Yet author Richard Rocha has not given us an exercise in jingoistic flag-waving, but a thoughtful, moving examination of what it means to be the son of a mother and father who were archetypes of the Greatest Generation, and who still holds dear his belief in America, along with his confidence that there is another Great Generation waiting to be called upon, if need be, to protect the nation from both its enemies and its own follies. The writing is straightforward, yet eloquent in its simplicity. The essays are heartfelt, the biographical passages ring true with their honesty. Richard Rocha isn't afraid to declare, with an understated determination, that he still hold faith with America, and believes that America will return that fidelity. For anyone whose faith in the United States is currently wavering, this is a book they should read -- they'll be glad -- and heartened -- that they did.

The book is available at both Amazon and Barnes and Nobel in both print and eBook formats. The print cost is $15.95 and the eBook cost is $9.99 and published by Christian Faith Publishing.
