Wake up, O President Obama and all ye homosexual activists! Moral absolutes are a fact of life.
Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has signed into law a bill that criminalizes homosexual acts committed in that country. It’s refreshing for a change to see a country conform its laws to the sovereign Law of God instead of succumbing to the dictatorship of a morally relativist, radically secularist, and–dare I say–intolerant homosexual agenda that is waging all-out war on God and his supreme Law in the name of false concepts of “love,” “freedom” and “happiness” and infecting the Western world like a cancer.
Uganda’s law makes perfect sense to me. Every country’s laws should conform to the Law of God, also known as the natural law, for the good of the whole society. No human society can flourish or endure unless its citizens recognize and accept the objective truth of the natural law established by their Creator and build their society on the unshakable truth of that immutable Law. Religion and morality are the foundations of true human freedom. It just doesn’t work any other way.
President Museveni is absolutely right to insist that the West should not attempt to impose its own values on Africa. That’s because the values of the West, as represented by President Obama and homosexual activists, are sick and perverted. It’s a shame that Africa has to remind us how far we have strayed from the Creator’s design on which the Founders built our nation. Faithful adherence to the Law of God is what makes a people free and happy.
Here is the text of the comment I entered on ZENIT’s website regarding this story:
“Human acts that violate the natural law of God should be criminalized in any society. The increasingly relativist and secularized West could learn a thing or two from Africa’s tenacious adherence to and respect for the objective moral law, the law that God has written in all human hearts and revealed to mankind through the Ten Commandments and the teachings of the Church. Only a society founded on this natural law of God can endure and prosper. I applaud President Museveni’s courageous decision, although I could dispute some of his reasoning. Even if science were to discover that there are genetic predispositions to homosexuality, such a finding would not justify legalizing acts that are intrinsically immoral for every human being.”
