IN HIS LATEST POLITICAL SPIN, PRESIDENT “TALK, TALK, TALK … AND UHM, MORE TALK’ … PROMISES TO SAVE THE PLANET (BUT NOT THOUSANDS OF INNOCENTS CURRENTLY BEEN BLOWN TO BITS BY SYRIAN MISSILES):
Yes, it’s come to that, gang. Celebrating “Earth Day” is the Obama White House’s priority — even though (1) millions of Americans are still out of work; and (2) the unemployment numbers among the community-organizer-and-chief’s target of so much of feigned compassion & concern — young black males — is over SIXTY PER CENT! (Read it and feign your own phoney weeping and concern, Al Sharpton — if ratings weakling, MSNBC, hasn’t already fired you).
AND HERE’S THE NEWS STORY … READ IT & WEEP DEAR READERS:
So let’s get right to it — the news story that metaphorically broke the camel’s back for most conservatives and global worming skeptics (oops … silly me … climate change skeptics … oh dear … I mispoke .. climate impact skeptics … oops, change that to “bad weather” skeptics):
APRIL 23, 2014–CLIMATE CHANGE WILL BE THE “EARTH DAY” TARGET FOR OBAMA, U.S. OFFICIALS CONFIRM (courtesy THE ENVIRONMENTAL NEWS NETWORK)
Yes folks, in an “Earth Day Proclamation” from President Barack Obama yesterday, he issued “dire” warning of the potent consequences of climate change and pledged to protect Americans and (get this) “all humankind” from this looming problem “that threatens us all.”
“Today, we face another problem that threatens us all,” Obama opined: “The overwhelming judgment of science tells us that climate change is altering our planet in ways that will have profound impacts on all of humankind.”:
“Already, longer wildfire seasons put first responders at greater risk”, continued the anointed one. Farmers must cope with increased soil erosion following heavy downpours and greater stresses from weeds, plant diseases, and insect pests (sounds just like the plague, inflicted by the biblical higher power, when Ramses rejected Moses’ plaintiff plea: “Let my people go!”).
The consequences of climate change will only grow more dire in the years to come,” Obama predicted.
Obama recounted the work his administration has done to prepare the nation for the impacts of climate change – tenfold increase in solar power, triple the electricity from wind power, and took credit for bringing “carbon pollution to its lowest levels in nearly two decades.” –- although for some reason he didn’t mention Sylandra.
“We are also taking on environmental challenges, he continued, by increasing fuel efficiency, restoring public lands, and curbing emissions of mercury and other toxic chemicals (and likely destroying key American businesses — like Dow Chemicals — while we’re at it, he forgot to mention).”
According to this exclusive Environmental News Network press release, to the Obama administration’s cheerleading squad in the mainstream media, senior officials across the Obama Administration are observing the 44th anniversary of Earth Day with events and announcements — including Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack’s inspiring announcement of record financial support for 116 projects that will “benefit the environment” – and of course be almost entirely paid for by unsuspecting U.S. taxpayers.
And once we’re at it, let’s transport ourselves, in William Shatner style, back to Monday February 17, 2014.
And let’s listen in to an earnest warning by America’s Secretary of (silly) State, John Kerry Heinz:
AND WHAT DID THE JAW THAT WALKS HAVE TO SAY?
Get this whopper:
On that day, the American Secretary of State said global warming is as big a threat as terrorism – and (ironically) in a speech in Indonesia, the world’s largest exporter of coal for power plants…
Speaking that weekend in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, the last stop on his three-nation Asia tour, Kerry called on the international community — nations & individuals — to do more now, since climate change required a global solution.
GET READY FOR IT … AND HERE IT COMES:
“Without more action to combat global warming, scientists predict extreme weather events such as last year’s Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines will occur,” he concluded … and then HE LIKENED CLIMATE CHANGE TO GLOBAL THREATS SUCH AS TERRORISM & THE PROLIFERATION OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION.
PERHAPS HE’S BEEN SMOKING UP IN COLORADO:
“The solution is energy policy. It’s as simple as that,” he said. “Governments and international financial institutions should stop incentivizing the use of energy sources like coal and oil (and perhaps electricity too … building bonfires instead?)”
MY OWN RESPONSE TO THE PRECEDING NEWS STORY:
Let’s cut to the chase, gang:
The mainstream-media, climate-change alarmists — as well as like-minded, publicity-seeking politicians like John Kerry Heinz — commit a usual error in their “climate” calculations:
They conflate wished-for associations — of self-selected negative weather patterns – with actual scientifically-verified causal relationships.
Or to put even more simply, quasi-scientific ideologues (like the folks at the United Nations) get what they look for, because they know what they want to find.
In fact, until the era of Al Gore (and his semi-delusional academic mentor, Roger Revelle), the scientific study of climate focused on the cycles of long-term weather changes which have spanned periods of centuries and the millennia.
And the conclusion of this traditional study of climate change?
That climate does change:
Specifically it has been warming since the end of the last ICE AGE– with a bump in the Gore years — but with warming MINIMALLY changing over the past 10 years (just check your heating bills for last winter).
So where do us bad-guy humans fit into the picture?
Well, in fact, humans have been contributing to a warmer climate since the dawn of civilization, with widespread burning of forests to make room for planting seeds for wheat & barley – to feed the first ancient city states.
And let’s face it: every breath we take produces carbon dioxide and adds allegedly-polluting contaminants to the atmosphere.
So what’s the eco-friendly solution?
That everyone in the world commit suicide, to save mother earth (or should we say Gaia)?
Meanwhile, when it comes to “rigged” science, I’ll let you “google” for the scientific evidence — recently provided by independent climatologists at their own climate-change conference — indicating that previous IPCC forecasts have been overestimating global temperature change forecasts for the past 10 to 15 years.
In particular, as we saw regarding the recent green-energy holiday cruise for Al Gore devotees — with the group’s huge cruise ship totally blocked & hemmed in by unexpected ice packs — the climate-change alarmists have been grossly underestimating the expansion of the Arctic & Antarctic ice caps.
GET TO THE POINT ALREADY:
So what would better serve the needs of humanity, than all this pseudo science?
For all concerned parties to look at the kind of scientific innovations that can better the lives of disadvantaged populations throughout the world, especially in Africa, India & South America.
For example, Monsanto has been much maligned by the environmental community for its genetically-engineered seeds that allow crops to withstand herbicides and ward off insects – making it possible for Third World farmers to substantially increase their crop output.
In fact, Monsanto is beginning a new soybean product launch, offering Latin American farmers seeds which combine (1) tolerance to the glyphosate herbicide (whatever that is); (2) protection against caterpillars; and (3) a significant improvement in these farmers’ crop “yields” (meaning more grain to sell, and hence more cash to improve their standards of living).
And the result of this kind revolution in farming world-wide?
For the first time in many years, India’s farmers produced a surplus crop of wheat this year … meaning that once all the needs of India’s massive population are met, India will export wheat at higher world prices.
And that, in turn, will enhance the incomes of its formerly indigent farming population.
MORAL OF THIS STORY:
It’s likely possible to spread such prosperity to other poverty-stricken areas of Africa and Asia … but if only we can overcome the ideological & commercial resistance to such agricultural innovations – especially by today’s self-serving Euro-social agricultural cabal.
And it’s time that the needs of (ordinary) people – not wealthy elites – come first, world-wide!
Nuff said, I hope.
